Welcome! I’m Logan Smith, a non-diet, weight-inclusive Registered Dietitian.

Tried every diet without success? You’ve come to the right place! I help clients achieve food freedom & wellness with a nutrition counseling approach individualized to each person. I struggled for years with trying one diet after another, which resulted in me being stuck in the restrict/binge cycle- so I get it! And because I get it - I can assure you dieting is not the answer to your problems. I’m here to help you reach your goals & ditch the diet mentality for good. I also specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. I have extensive training and background treating Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder.

“From Junior year of High School to Freshman year of College, my goal was to eat the smallest amount of food to ensure I was the smallest version of myself. I wanted to shrink myself to fit in with the rest of the girls I went to school with. Sophomore year of college, I decided I was done with being the smallest version of myself and wanted to be the healthiest version, or so I thought. I fell down a dark hole and became obsessed with clean eating, healing my gut and preaching to everyone around me about the toxic ingredients in the foods they were consuming. Not only was I harming myself, but I was pushing toxic beliefs onto the people I cared most about. Junior year of college, I decided I was done being restrictive. I began incorporating foods I truly wanted such as pizza, cookies, chips, muffins etc. This lead to a long period of binge eating and only made the hatred I had for myself and body worse. Thankfully, during my junior year of college, I reached out to my doctor to seek professional help for disordered eating. I was connected to the one person who has helped me through this journey of healing my relationship with food, Logan Smith. Logan was the first person to open my eyes to the world of intuitive eating. I was skeptical at first and thought I would be on another type of diet that allowed to be eat tons of ‘junk food’ but it was far from that. It was the freedom I had been searching for since Junior year of High School. Intuitive Eating is “an approach to eating that focuses on the body’s response to cues of hunger and satisfaction. It aims to foster a positive relationship with food as opposed to ‘weight control’. This approach has changed my entire thought process about food, health, and how restrictive diets will never be the answer.” - Lydia 1:1 nutrition counseling covered by insurance

With my nutrition counseling approach, we will work together to create sustainable changes that work for YOU. Constantly worrying about what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat, the mental battle of should/shouldn’t with eating isn’t how it’s meant to be. Together, we will help you enjoy eating again, stress and guilt-free. Nutrition isn’t supposed to be this complicated.

FAQ’s:

What does it mean for a dietitian to be weight-inclusive?

Being a weight-inclusive dietitian means that I believe clients should be provided with access to health care that is non-stigmatizing. Each individual should be given the opportunity to achieve a state of wellness independent of their weight. Health and wellbeing can be achieved, regardless of the number on the scale. I am much more focused on helping you improve your overall wellbeing - physically, mentally and emotionally.

My doctor said I should go on a diet to try to lose weight and lower my cholesterol. How do I work on this without going on a diet?

In my practice, I work with clients on intuitive eating with a gentle nutrition approach, ensuring each client is receiving individualized care. If diets worked, there wouldn’t be 100 different diets out there for you to try & the diet industry wouldn’t be worth 78 billion dollars. Everyone is different, so of course diets with specific rules won’t work for everyone.

What is intuitive eating & how can it help me?

There are over 100 research studies looking at how intuitive eating has been shown to have numerous health outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Improved cholesterol levels

  • Better body image

  • Higher self-esteem

  • Decreased rates of disordered eating

  • Decreased stress levels

  • Increased satisfaction with life

Can I become an intuitive eater if I’m going through eating disorder recovery?

YES. At least, eventually. One of the principles of intuitive eating is giving yourself unconditional permission to eat which can be extremely stressful and confusing when going through recovery. Truly having unconditional permission to eat allows for us to learn how to make peace with food, remove the morality of food and learn to feel safe with consuming ALL foods. This is something that takes a lot of time, practice, and patience, but it’s most certainly achievable.
